Deepening Reiki with Pamela Miles

Let me start by quoting one of my teachers, Pamela Miles. "Reiki is a spiritual healing practice that helps your system balance itself. Balance is always a good thing because your body can only self-heal when your nervous system is balanced."

This "hands on" healing modality inlcudes light touch or if preferred, no touch at all. The practitioners hands hover lightly over the head and body and clients remain fully clothed throughout the treatment. With Reiki there are no invasive procedures or painful practices.

One of the things I love most about Reiki is that it can be done in person or at a distance. In fact, I've had just as much succees during my distance Reiki sessions as I have had in person. As in most sprititual practices, mystery comes to the forefront and that's certainly true about Reiki. In my spiritual walk I attribute that mystery and source of power to our Creator, the Universe, Source (it really doesn't matter what term you use), which only adds to my personal sense of connection. However, you need not be religious or a believer of any sort to benefit from the mystery of Reiki.

Rather than addressing a specific disease or its symptoms directly, Reiki helps bring your entire system into balance: physically, emotionally, mentally, and spritiually. Clearly, when these systems are in balance everything works better and the natural result is to feel better.

This could mean you have less pain, feel less irritable, and experience less anxiety; you may feel more focused and less scattered; people often feel more content and less anxious. The Reiki recipient often expereinces a deeper connection to themsleves, to others, and to the world around them. That pervasive sense of issolation and alienation often lifts and lightens.

You can imagine that when these things happen the body begins to work better and feel better. That's why Reiki doesn't "target" a specific malady but instead works with the entire person, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. And although Reiki is not a substitute for conventional medicine, it is a viable companion that can mean you need less medication or that you get better results from your current treatment.

Reiki can help you engage life's challenges and any necessary treatment more effectively. Many who have received Reiki treatments have discovered they are able to cope better and their bodies become more responsive and have a greater ability to heal.

Our bodies are made to heal themselves but our lifestyles often get in the way of that healing; our busy lives and the stress we have come to believe is "normal" often interrupt the natural process of regeneration. That's called imbalance but Reiki is a spiritual healing practice that helps your system balance itself.

Here are just a few of the challenges Reiki has been shown to help:

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Autism and learning disorders

  • Cancer

  • Crohn's disease

  • Emotional illness

  • End-of-life care

  • Fatigue syndromes

  • Heart didease

  • Infertility

  • Traumatic brain injury

Research data also shows Reiki treatment can effectively enhance general well-being and over all personal peace through:

  • Getting a better night's sleep

  • A greater sense of self

  • Greater stability in relationship

  • Improved intuition

  • Better pain management

  • Relaxation

  • Reduced anxiety

  • Substance abuse recovery

  • Speedier surgical recovery

So what's not to love about Reiki? And in my practice I offer several options that can include Angel therapy and Crystal therapy in conjuction with your Reiki treatment. These partnerships have been well received resulting in a very pleasant outcome.
