Hello Everyone,
This week’s astrology has a very different rhythm than what we’ll experience as July gets underway.
On June 29, we have a Capricorn Full Moon, and just a few hours later Mercury stations retrograde in Cancer. Together, these two events encourage us to slow down, even if life doesn’t. Many of us still have jobs, families, appointments, and responsibilities that require our attention. The astrology isn’t suggesting those things disappear. It’s encouraging us to create a little more space between what happens and how we respond.
Some people may notice this as mental fatigue, physical tiredness, or simply a stronger desire to take their time before making decisions. That doesn’t necessarily mean something is wrong. Sometimes the body recognizes a change in rhythm before the mind has words for it.
This isn’t a week to rush toward answers.
It’s a week to pause, pay attention, and realign.

Mercury is preparing to retrace his steps. The Full Moon is shining a bright light on where you are today. Together, they encourage you to stop long enough to recognize what life has been showing you over the past several months.
The sky is asking us to slow down because the pace is about to change. Mercury standing still on the Capricorn Full Moon is not delaying what’s coming. He’s giving us one last opportunity to pause and realign so we’re ready to make conscious choices when July begins to accelerate.
The June 29th Full Moon falls across the Cancer-Capricorn axis. This is where Cancer is all about home, family, emotional security, our ancestors, and the people who help us feel supported. On the other side of the wheel, Capricorn is looking toward responsibility, long-term goals, our work in the world, and the life we’re building.
Every Full Moon brings awareness, and this one is asking, “Are you giving your time and energy to the things that truly matter?”
Earlier in the year, many of us made plans and set intentions. We imagined then where we’d be now. This Full Moon offers an opportunity to check in with those expectations. Life has a way of teaching us things we couldn’t have known six months ago. Sometimes our priorities change because we have changed.
The Sun in Cancer reminds us to listen to our emotions rather than dismiss them. Your feelings are carrying useful information this week. They can help you recognize where you feel supported, where you feel drained, and where your attention naturally wants to go.
At the same time, the Moon in Capricorn encourages emotional maturity. Capricorn doesn’t ignore feelings, but neither does it allow them to make every decision. Instead, it asks us to take our lives seriously. Capricorn reminds us that every commitment requires time, energy, and attention.
Just hours after the Full Moon, the Moon forms an exact square to Saturn in Aries. A few days later, the Sun in Cancer will have the same challenging conversation.
These Saturn squares slow the pace even more.
Rather than seeing that as a frustration, consider it an opportunity to practice discernment. Not every responsibility still belongs to you. Not every goal deserves the same investment. Some plans may need adjustment because your experience has given you new understanding.
Mercury’s retrograde reinforces this message. Because Mercury stations on the day of the Full Moon, there’s tremendous value in stopping before making important decisions. Conversations may need another look. Plans may benefit from revision. Ideas that seemed settled could reveal new possibilities once you examine them more closely.
None of this means we’ve failed. It just means we’ve learned something worth taking into consideration.
In our Ask the SGs Community chart, Mercury stations retrograde in Cancer in our 7th House of important relationships. It’s conjunct (sitting with) our natal Mars and very close to transiting Jupiter, also in Cancer.
Jupiter expands whatever he touches. With Mercury and Jupiter working together, this is excellent energy for seeing the bigger picture. You may begin connecting ideas that didn’t seem related before. You may recognize that something you’ve been trying to force has a better solution than the one you originally imagined.
Everything happening in Cancer is activated by the Capricorn Full Moon.
Thankfully, the Moon in Capricorn offers a steady container for Cancer’s emotional wisdom. Feelings become easier to understand when we slow down long enough to listen to them.
But this slower pace won’t last.
As we move into July, the energy starts to change.
On June 30, Jupiter enters Leo, where he’ll be for the next year. This begins a new chapter of growth centered on creativity, confidence, generosity, and heartfelt self-expression.
Jupiter in Leo always reminds me of a dear friend who loves to dance. Put on good music and give her a little space, and she’ll dance like no one is watching. She isn’t wondering who approves. She isn’t comparing herself to anyone else. She’s simply enjoying the experience with her whole heart.
That’s how I think of Jupiter in Leo.
This transit encourages us to bring more joy, creativity, and authenticity into our lives.
But Jupiter won’t have the stage to himself.
As he settles into Leo, Jupiter begins two challenging conversations.
The first is with Chiron at 0° Taurus. This turning point on July 1, 2026, in your journey offers confidence in the path you’re on, while also showing where your self-worth and self-confidence is lacking in following that path. This challenge will show where you need to develop greater confidence to be who you’re meant to be and how you can be ready to stand strong in who you are and who you are becoming.
Then Jupiter begins moving toward an opposition with Pluto in Aquarius.
Jupiter in Leo encourages you to express yourself fully. Pluto in Aquarius asks deeper questions about power, influence, community, and the changes taking place within the collective.
Together, they invite us to examine where we still seek approval before fully expressing who we are. They also remind us that authentic confidence doesn’t come from being admired. It grows from knowing your own mind and using your gifts in ways that genuinely benefit others.
Pluto remains out of bounds to the south, a supportive position for the collective. Although I won’t go into the technical details here, it tells me that important shifts in power continue to develop beneath the surface. As more information comes to light over the coming months, many people will begin seeing situations from a very different perspective.
In our community chart, Jupiter’s opposition to Pluto creates a T-square with our natal Sun in Scorpio. This challenges us to examine our sense of personal worth, our public role, and the ways transformation continues to shape who we are becoming as a spiritual community.
Then, on July 4, Mars in Gemini moves into conjunction with Uranus.
This is one of the first major signals that the pace is changing.
New information can arrive quickly. Conversations may take unexpected turns. Ideas that have been developing in the background can suddenly move into action. Mars also joins the fixed star Alcyone, an archetype of the sacred feminine rising. This adds another layer of insight connected with compassion, higher awareness, and seeing the truth through a wider spiritual perspective.
This is a big reason the pause early in the week matters.
The astrology is asking us to stand still so we have time to get our footing before life begins moving more quickly.
If life feels slower or if you feel like you’re moving slower than you’d like this coming week, don’t assume you’ve taken a wrong turn. Some of the most important shifts begin in stillness. Use this time to get your footing.
July will bring faster-moving energy, and you’ll benefit from knowing where you want to place your attention before the pace changes.
This Week’s Tarot Card: The Six of Autumn

This week’s tarot card feels like a beautiful confirmation of everything we’ve been talking about in the astrology.
One of the traditional meanings of this card is wise giving. Although it often speaks about money and resources, I think its message is much broader this week. Your time, attention, encouragement, experience, and compassion are all valuable resources.
The Capricorn Full Moon encourages us to take an honest look at where we’re investing those resources. Mercury’s retrograde reminds us not to rush those decisions. Together, they encourage us to give thoughtfully rather than automatically.
The Six of Autumn also reminds us that healthy relationships include both giving and receiving. If someone offers help, encouragement, or practical support this week, allow yourself to receive it with the same grace you so often extend to others.
Sometimes the greatest act of generosity is simply placing your energy where it can do the most good.
I hope this reading gives you a quiet place to stand and catch your breath as we prepare to move into the big energies later in July.
