Welcome, everyone.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been talking about the Hammock. July invited us to make room within the fast-paced astrological energy to slow down, catch our breath, and spend some time in the Hammock reflecting before rushing into the next thing.
As we enter August, the atmosphere begins to change.
It feels as though we’re standing in a doorway. One season is coming to a close, and another is beginning. We may not see the whole path ahead, but we can sense the change taking place.
This week is about crossing that threshold.

Before we go any farther, I want to offer one more thought about the Hammock. Although Jupiter will eventually move on, our community’s natal Moon in Leo keeps this Hammock in place throughout 2026 and well into 2027. We can return to it whenever we need time to slow down, reflect, listen to our intuition, and reconnect with ourselves.
August begins eclipse season, and several important astrological cycles are gathering in the sign of Leo. Jupiter entered Leo at the end of June. The Lunar Nodes entered Leo in late July. On August 12, we’ll experience a New Moon solar eclipse in Leo. Each of these deserves its own conversation, but together they’re drawing our attention to the same part of our lives.
When several planets and cycles gather in one sign, it’s usually worth paying attention.
Leo reminds us to live from the heart.
It encourages creativity, generosity, courage, and the willingness to let ourselves be seen. Sometimes that means sharing a talent we’ve kept to ourselves. Sometimes it means speaking honestly. Sometimes it means trusting our own judgment instead of waiting for someone else’s approval.
This week also carries us toward the Lion’s Gate Portal, which reaches its peak on August 8.
The Lion’s Gate brings together the energy of the Sun in Leo, the bright star Sirius, and the symbolism of the number 8. It is a time associated with spiritual awareness, courage, intention setting, and new beginnings. You may choose to work with this energy through meditation, writing down your intentions, or reflecting on the direction your soul is taking.
Rather than asking, “What do I need to accomplish?” you might ask yourself, “Who am I becoming?”
In our Ask the Spirit Guides community chart, the upcoming Leo eclipse falls in the 8th house.
This is the house of transformation, shared resources, hidden truths, and the experiences that change us from the inside out. During the coming weeks, conversations become more honest. Old patterns are easier to recognize. We find ourselves looking more closely at feelings, concerns, and truths we haven’t been able to face.
This is the beginning of a longer process. What becomes visible now gives us something real to work with during the weeks ahead.
Pay attention to the doorway. And consider what you are ready to leave behind and where you feel called to go next.
On August 6, Venus enters Libra, one of the signs she rules. Venus encourages us to pay attention to our relationships, our values, the beauty in our lives, fairness, and balance with the people around us. She softens the atmosphere a bit as we move toward the more intense energies of eclipse season.
This Venus transit begins a story we’ll continue following later this year as she stations retrograde in Scorpio in October. Tuck that into your back pocket. I’ll be sharing more about the energy of that transit as we move into autumn.
As you move through this week, give yourself time to pause before making important decisions. Listen to your intuition. Pay attention to what continues calling to you. Life often speaks through the patterns that repeat until we can see what the next step requires. That’s when we recognize that the time for action has arrived.
Crossing a threshold rarely happens in one dramatic moment.
It often begins when we recognize that an old way of living no longer reflects who we are becoming.
That’s where many of us find ourselves now.
Let’s cross this threshold together.

This week’s Tarot card: The Moon
What a perfect draw! Every week I’m amazed at what spirit shows us, but this week is so on the nose it’s almost hard to believe.
And just look at the astrology we’re entering. August centers around the cycles and phases of the Moon—specifically, the New Moon and the Full Moon. That’s what eclipse season is all about, right?
In tarot, the Moon speaks about powerful intuitive insights, hidden information coming to light, and finally understanding the truth of a situation. Drawing this card tells me that we need to listen closely to the messages coming through our intuition, our dreams, synchronicities, and the patterns that keep repeating around us.
Sometimes we can feel that something is changing before we have enough information to explain it. We may feel drawn in a new direction, or we may begin to recognize that something in our lives no longer feels right. The Moon reminds us not to dismiss those feelings just because we can’t see the entire path ahead.
At the same time, this card asks us to use discernment. Things may not be exactly as they first appear. This is a good week to pause and allow more information to come forward before deciding what something means.
One of the messages printed on this card is, “seeing what you didn’t see before.” That feels especially important as we cross this threshold. Something that has been difficult to understand may begin to make sense. A truth we’ve avoided may become harder to ignore. We may finally recognize the next step because we can now see what it requires.
The Moon also speaks about releasing worry and fear. That doesn’t mean ignoring what concerns us. It means refusing to let fear make every decision. When the path ahead feels uncertain, we can slow down, listen to our inner guidance, and trust that more clarity will come. Maybe even spend a little time in that hammock?
This card confirms the message of the astrology. We are entering a time of change, but we are not walking forward without guidance. Pay attention to what your intuition is telling you. Watch for meaningful synchronicities. Remember your dreams. Listen for the message that keeps returning.
You may already know more than you think you do.
A Note from Faye
As I’ve been preparing this reading, I’ve been thinking about the ways eclipse season is already working in my own life.
Some things are coming to an end, and new opportunities are beginning to take their place.
I’m very excited to be creating the August Forecast for the Ask the Spirit Guides community. I’ll also be developing short meditations to help us connect with the astrology, the books we’re reading in the Spirit Circle, and the emotions that come up as we respond to events in the world around us.
I’m also making some important changes to my astrology work. I’ll be simplifying my booking options, and consultation calls will no longer be included with reports. Clients will still be welcome to email me with questions, and consultations will remain available as a separate booking when someone feels they would benefit from talking through their report.
These changes are helping me create more room in my schedule for the work I feel called to do next—working more closely with Karen and this community, while also giving more time and attention to my memoir.
This is eclipse energy at work in my own life. Something is ending. Something new is beginning. And just like the message in this week’s reading, I don’t have to see the entire path ahead to know that it’s time to cross the threshold.
Always Remember that Love Wins,
Faye
