09.06.26 Ask the SGs Weekly Reading: A New Perspective
Updated: Sep 12
Hello everyone,
On Thursday, Venus moves into Scorpio, Mercury moves into Libra, and Uranus stations retrograde in Gemini. Then late that night, we have a New Moon in Virgo. That’s a lot in one day!
Then over September 11–13, Mercury connects with Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini, creating the first of two Grand Air Trines in September.
So, this week we’re… Sorting it out → talking about it → getting to the truth of it → seeing it differently.
And underneath all of that is one important question: What actually works for me now?

The New Moon on Thursday night begins a new lunar cycle in Virgo that is very practical. Virgo wants to know: What needs attention? What needs fixing? What can I do about it?
This New Moon is giving us a chance to do something useful with whatever the August eclipses exposed. Maybe you change a routine or you finally deal with something you’ve been putting off. Maybe you stop doing something the old way because you can see it’s no longer working.
That’s why we keep asking, “What actually works for me now?”
Mercury Moves into Libra
On Thursday, Mercury leaves Virgo and enters Libra.
In Virgo Mercury says, “Let me figure this out.”
In Libra Mercury says, “Now let’s talk about it.”
Mercury in Virgo has helped us analyze, sort, and think things through. Then Mercury in Libra brings other people into the conversation. Libra is connected to relationships, fairness, balance, and seeing another point of view.
That doesn’t mean everyone suddenly agrees. But we may be able to say or hear something differently, or we may realize that the conversation we thought we needed to have isn’t the one we need at all. That’s important because Mercury is about to connect with Pluto and Uranus. But first…
Uranus Stations Retrograde
A few hours after Mercury moves into Libra, Uranus stations retrograde in Gemini.
In astrology, Mercury is the everyday mind and Uranus is the higher mind. That means Mercury handles the grocery list, the text message, the recipe, and solving ordinary problems. Uranus is the lightning-bolt realization, the moment when something clicks and we suddenly understand things differently. It’s the Aha! moment when we see things from a new perspective.
And Uranus is in Gemini. That’s Mercury’s sign, so Uranus is in Mercury’s home right now. That means he has to follow Mercury’s rules.
That makes Thursday especially interesting because Mercury has just entered Libra, while Uranus stations retrograde in Gemini. That means the higher mind is waking something up, while Mercury in Libra says, “Can we talk about this?”
Because Uranus is turning retrograde, like he’s doing the Michael Jackson Moonwalk across the sky, that awakening will turn inward first. That’s how retrograde planets work. They work from the inside out. Something changes inside of us, and then that changes the way we respond to what’s happening outside of us.
That means the breakthrough that happens inside of us can change what happens next, outside of us.
We’re practicing what we learned in eclipse season. When the outside light is blocked, we go within. The same is true when planets move retrograde.
That’s the beginning of what I called the mind cleanse in the September forecast for the Spirit Circle. That’s because Mercury in Libra and Uranus in Gemini are both going to connect with Pluto in Aquarius. We’ll talk about that shortly.
Venus Enters Scorpio
Venus also changes signs on Thursday when she moves from Libra into Scorpio.
In Libra, Venus has been focused on relationships, fairness, and how we treat one another. It’s her home sign and her home rules, so she calls the shots. She likes it here. She has everything she needs. The candles are lit and her favorite meditation music is playing in the background. She’s making plans to invite her favorite friends over for dinner.
But in Scorpio, Venus works differently. Here she will go deep beneath the surface.
Now we’re asking, “What do I really feel?” and “What do I actually need?” And what’s really going on underneath this relationship or conversation?
Mercury may help us talk about it, but it’s Venus in Scorpio who helps us get to the truth of it.
This also begins a longer relationship-and-values story that will continue through Venus’s retrograde cycle into December.
For this week, just pay attention to what begins surfacing. Look at what comes up in your relationships. I’m already doing that.
September 11–13 — The Grand Air Trine
Then we move into the weekend, where Mercury in Libra and Uranus in Gemini begin connecting with Pluto in Aquarius, creating a Grand Air Trine.
Because this happens through the Air signs, it’s connected to thinking, communication, information, and how we understand what’s happening.
Mercury brings in the conversation. Uranus brings in awakening and liberation. And now, Pluto brings in transformation and power.
Put them together, and a conversation or piece of information can change how we understand something. Especially something that’s been stuck in our heads. It may finally loosen.
Maybe a conversation finally happens. Someone says something and a piece falls into place. Maybe you realize an assumption you’ve been holding onto is no longer true.
Or maybe, like me, you hear yourself say something out loud and think, “Who the hell said that? Oh, wait, that was me. THAT’S what I think now.” I actually had that happen to me on the August Pisces eclipse.
Or maybe you simply change your mind. That can change a lot, too.
So to me, this week is about a change in our understanding. We change our minds. It happens like this…
Virgo helps us sort through what’s working and what’s not. When Mercury moves into Libra, he takes what we’ve figured out in Virgo into our Libra conversations.
Venus moves into Scorpio and helps us understand what’s really underneath those conversations.
Uranus stations retrograde and turns the awakening process inward. Then Mercury, Pluto, and Uranus connect, and something finally clicks.
It feels amazing when that click happens, right? It’s like you have scales over your eyes that suddenly fall away and now you can see the light of day.
Uranus doing his Moonwalk through the sky tells me that this breakthrough begins inside of us. Something changes in the way we understand what’s happening, and that changes what we do next.
Once we understand something differently, we make different choices.
And that brings us right back to the question we asked at the beginning with the Virgo New Moon. “What actually works for me now?”
This Week’s Tarot Card: The World

The World is a card of completion. Just look at that picture! The fairy at the center is celebrating while the smaller fairies around her all hold lanterns. They represent the breakthrough that helps us see things “in a whole new light.”
A journey, lesson, pattern, or way of doing things has reached a point where we can say, “I understand this differently now.”
The situation itself may go on. What changes is our old way of relating to it and how we engage with it.
Maybe we no longer need the same answer. Or we stop repeating the same pattern. Maybe we realize we’ve learned what we needed to learn and we don’t have to keep doing things the way we always have.
That’s where the freedom in this card comes from. The card itself says, “The freedom to go in any direction.”
I love that for this week because the Virgo New Moon is asking, “What actually works for me now?”
Uranus helps us find a new perspective so we can see something differently. Mercury helps us put that new perspective into words. And The World says we are standing at the end of one way of doing things and the beginning of another. Oh boy, can I relate to that!
This card also wants us to look at how far we’ve come. If you’ve moved forward even just a step or two, stop and pat yourself on the back. You’ve made progress!
This card tells me that some of us are handling something now in a way we could not have handled it a year ago, or even a month ago. Some of us may finally understand a lesson we’ve been circling for a long time. That would be me, for sure.
Now we realize, “I don’t have to do this the old way anymore.”
That’s life-changing completion. We have more freedom to decide what we want to do next, and that’s when everything changes.
A Note from Faye
I’m living this week’s astrology in a very personal way.
A few weeks ago, I received a communication from someone I love that brought me face-to-face with a relationship pattern I’ve carried for much of my life.
When someone I love is upset with me or misunderstands me, my instinct has often been to explain myself. I want to find the right words. I want them to understand what I meant. I need them to understand my heart and hopefully see me differently.
I’ve spent the past couple of weeks doing a lot of thinking and writing about that pattern. And somewhere along the way, something changed in me.
The other person didn’t change. The history didn’t change. What happened didn’t change.
I changed.
That feels like Uranus stationing retrograde in Gemini this week. The breakthrough didn’t happen because something outside of me changed. The breakthrough happened because something inside of me changed. And that changed the way I see what’s going on outside of me.
For me, the realization was simple: I know my own heart. I no longer need someone else to agree with me about it. And that has changed what I want to say and how I want to say it.
I don’t need to defend myself. I don’t need to explain every detail. I don’t need to convince anyone that my version of the story is the correct one. I can simply say what I need to say and let the other person decide what they want to do with it.
That brings me right back to the question we’ve been asking from the beginning.
What actually works for me now?
The way I handled these situations for years doesn’t work for me anymore. So I’m choosing something different.
And maybe that is one way this week’s astrology will show up for some of you too.
Sometimes the breakthrough is not getting another person to see things differently.
Sometimes the breakthrough is realizing that you see things differently.
I hope this week’s reading sets you free and helps you see something in a brand new light.
💕 Faye
